3 WAYS TO ENJOY SPRING IN SAN ANTONIO

March 28th, 2019 by

Although winter is anything but harsh in San Antonio, spring brings about renewal and rebirth. More importantly, it’s the pleasant time of year right before triple-digit temperatures and oppressive humidity plague Texas’ largest city. That’s why you should plan your outdoor activities during this season. With balmy weather and plenty of sunshine, enjoying spring has never been easier than it is in San Antonio.

  1. HIT THE LINKS

There’s no better way to enjoy springtime than by shuffling on over to your favorite San Antonio area golf course. With nearly 40 golf courses of varying distances and price ranges, you can find the ideal links to improve your handicap and challenge your short game. The Palmer Course at La Cantera is widely regarded as the most scenic option in San Antonio, while the AT&T Canyons Course at TPC San Antonio is one of the top public courses in the nation.

Whether you love swigging beers and smoking cigars at the wheel of a golf cart or applying the skills you learned during golf lessons, these courses are

  1. GET SOME THRILLS AT SIX FLAGS FIESTA TEXAS

You could go to some local carnivals sponsored by schools, churches, or other organizations to get your adrenaline fix. But between the droves of whiny children, the offensive odor of things that didn’t sit well gastronomically, and the blasting of the greatest hair metal ballads of the 1980s, you might second-guess yourself. Luckily, you have Six Flags Fiesta Texas right next door.

One of San Antonio’s most popular attractions, this 200-acre, 39-ride amusement park has plenty of heart-pounding action to get your blood pumping. The 20-story-tall Scream! drops you from its apex to the ground, taking the feeling of falling to new heights (no pun intended). Other standout rides include the Superman Krypton Coaster and the Iron Rattler, which hits speeds of up to 73 mph. If it’s a bit hot, don’t fret. White Water Bay is a water park with 16 rides, a wave pool, splash playgrounds, a lazy river, and more.

Tickets are technically $62.99 for a day pass, but with promotions running with various companies year-round, only a fool would pay full price.

  1. ENJOY AMERICA’S PASTIME

The Rangers and Astros are the only Major League Baseball teams in Texas, but that doesn’t mean you can’t see some high-level baseball in San Antonio. The city is home to the San Antonio Missions — the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. With games running from April to September, you’ll have 72 chances to see the Missions attempt a run at the Pacific Coast League championship.

If you’ve never been to a minor league baseball game, the experience is unparalleled. Giveaways, promotions, cheap beers, delicious food, and the chance to see the game’s next superstars are just a few of the reasons to make a trip to Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium.

Whether you love being active, getting a super adrenaline rush, or catching a ballgame, San Antonio has plenty of ways to enjoy the springtime.
